Telehealth refers to practicing psychotherapy via a digital platform instead of a regular visit to a brick and mortar office. It’s a video visit via a device connected to the Internet, such as a computer, tablet, or smartphone.

There are many reasons people choose telehealth or video sessions over in person.
No commute. No traffic. No lost time at work. And inclement weather? No problem.
No childcare? No clean laundry? No problem. And if you can’t get out of the house, for any reason? No problem.
Just find a quiet room where you feel comfortable talking.
The only other thing you need is a computer or a cell phone with a steady service, so you can sign in and we can video conference our session.
Then, get comfortable, grab a cup of coffee or tea, and you’re ready to go!
We’re still meeting face-to-face
Video sessions can provide the same benefits as in-person therapy – and even some additional ones.
Since we’re using video, we can still see each other. This means we still have the full scope of facial expressions and body language that would be missing from a phone session.
And via video, you allow me a window into your world. Now, I have access to what your regular environment looks like, which can bring our relationship to an even deeper and more effective space.
Research continues to affirm the efficacy of telehealth services, with studies showing that videoconferencing is as effective as face-to-face treatments. Some studies have even found that telehealth services may be preferable to in-person care in specific populations and situations.
